So, did these products live up to the promises?
First, I decided to try these products while wearing my hair curly. I know they are mostly known for the results they yeild when straightening curly and kinky hair but, personally, I try to use heat as less as possible. For me, that has led to more growth during my journey. I began by washing my hair using the "Carmelux- SHAMPOO" and, noticed that it lathered and, cleansed my hair well & it didn't feel stripped or, dried out.
That was a nice surprise as, most shampoos I've tried tend to make my hair feel dry. That factor made sense because, these products are indeed all natural. They feature ingredient lists that are fairly easy to understand. The shampoo contains ingredients like apple cider vinegar, and coconut oil just to name a few. While the conditioner contains tea tree oil and glycerin. Which has been known to be effective at aiding in detangling. Next, I separated my hair into four sections and, applied the "Carmel -TREATMENT." I instantly liked the way it smoothed my curls. I even noticed some nice definition. I lightly detangled my hair with my fingers. This product is very sticky, as it contains honey. That's actually beneficially to the hair, as honey is a humectant that absorbs more moisture into the hair. I let this product set on my hair for a while, at least an hour.
When it was time to rinse, my hair felt so moisturized and, I had even more curl definition. I applied the "Carmelux CONDITIONER" as a leave in, then I detangled with my detangling comb and, when I tell you that comb was sliding through my hair. I was shook ya'll! My hair felt like butter. Then, I separated those inital four sections into smaller sections. I applied a small & final amount of the conditioner to each section and, twisted my hair up I used "BUTTERSHINE" to seal in the moisture. This product contains shea butter along with other oils making it a nice sealant and, even can provide a soft hold for smoothing edges. My results from that process was nice and, I truly loved it. Soft, moisturized, manageable and my twist out was the bomb! Very defined and, dare I say it, I was actually feeling my natural hair and, everything about it! I continued to rock this twist out for almost two weeks. I would re-twist nightly with my staple moisturizer and, seal with the"Buttershine".
++++++++++++++++
My next experiment with these products was what I was most excited about, straightening my kinky curly hair. I used them in the exact same order as before. The only difference is, I didn't use the "Carmelux CONDITIONER" as a leave-in. I shampooed, conditioned, deep conditoned regularly and, rinsed it all out. I applied a heat protectant, serum and, a light leave in and, twisted it in medium twists. I then banded the twists overnight to stretch my hair as, I actually hate blow drying (but, that's another post for another time). The next day, once my hair was dry, I applied a little more serum, detangled and, flat ironed with a small amount of the "Buttershine".
My hair straightened really easily with one pass and, by two passes with my flat iron, it was smooth and silky. I was even able to flat iron my roots really well. Which can sometimes be next to impossible to do. I am currently still wearing my hair straightened using these products and, so far, I haven't had reversion.
So, whats my verdict?
I looooooved these products. My hair feels and, looks great. While, these products may have a lucrative price tag for some, I think they are well worth it! I have tried various products and, no other product line made my hair feel more manageable while both curly and, straight than E'Tae. That speaks volumes, in my opinion. So, yes... they lived up to their promises! I'd say try them out and, if the price is a bit much, a quick google search will lead to secondary vendors and, E'Tae themselves offer promo codes & sales quite often.
